Produced by: Cristian DeFrancia Tomas DeFrancia Written and Directed by: Cristian DeFrancia Assistant Directors: Peter Bill Esmee Van Der Meulen Editors: Jeff Aderman Tomas DeFrancia Cristian DeFrancia is a first-time independent Producer and Director who is currently trading his time between documentary film and graduate studies in international and media law at the University of Virginia. With a professional background in humanitarian law and media, Cristian successfully combined his talents to direct a highly qualified team in the production of Mirror to History. Cristian graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Reed College in 1995, studied foreign affairs at the Institute of World Politics in Washington, D.C., served as a correspondent for Comcast Cable at a United Nations treaty conference in 1998, and has worked with numerous organizations to promote awareness of international humanitarian issues. Cristian began his forays into the world of film and video while in college, working with filmmakers in the Prague Film and Video community and with his brother Tomas, now a Producer in South Florida. Mirror to History was co-produced by Tomas DeFrancia, a graduate of the University of Colorado film program, who served as mentor in the production process. After graduating from film school in 1995, Tomas worked as a production assistant in the motion picture industry, produced documentaries in Annapolis, MD, directed commercials for Comcast Cable in South Florida and now works as a director, editor, and videographer at Aderman & Associates in West Palm Beach, FL. The team of brothers worked closely together on every aspect of the film. Other key figures on the team include Assistant Directors Peter Bill and Esmee Van der Meulen. Peter Bill, a painter, Digital designer, and video artist recently re-located from Prague to Seattle, worked in the Prague Film community as an art director with Tri-Media, a major contractor for Czech TV. He is now studying at the University of Washington, where he holds a research postion at the CARTAH lab. A graduate of the Royal Academy for the Arts in The Hague, Netherlands with a degree in Video Design, Esmee is a respected director and videographer in the Dutch film and video community. The musical elements were provided by Fikreta, Adi Lukovac & Ornamenti of Post-War Sound, Sarajevo, and the Dutch group "Desaya." |
